This farmhouse is set in the Chianti hills, just 20 km from the centre of Florence and 50 minutes from Siena. It offers rustic-style rooms and a garden with olive trees, roses and jasmines.

Breakfast at Il Borghetto Country Inn includes local products and homemade cakes, and is served in the garden. Traditional Tuscan cuisine is available on request at lunch and dinner, accompanied by local wines.

Set in a 30 hectare estate, the farmhouse produces and sells its own extra-virgin olive oil and red wines. Staff organise wine and olive oil-tasting tours. Bike excursions, horseback riding, cookery courses and hot air balloon flights, can be booked at reception.

The family-run Il Borghetto is in San Casciano Val di Pesa, 2.5 km from the centre of Montefiridolfi. The 7th-century Etruscan Tomb of the Archer is just a few minutes' walk away.
